Khenpri Tibba (3–5 days): This is one of the most picturesque treks starting from Dhungri, 2km from Manali. Magnificent Himalayan vistas open up as the trail traverses myriad streams, forests and lush meadows strewn with an amazing variety of alpine flowers. The summit commands a 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding peaks.
Patalsu Peak (one day, 4244 m): The trek starts from Solang Nala, about 14km from Manali, and goes through Solang, the last village of Kullu valley. After this, the trail ascends steeply through some fields, woodlands and meadows. In spring a variety of wild alpine flowers are strewn all around. From the base of Patalsu peak, you get a good view of Hanuman Tibba (5990m), Indrasan (6021m), Deo Tibba (6001m) and Kullu valley. To go to the top of Patalsu peak it takes another 3–4 hours, but the terrain is steep and rough.
Kulang/ Vashisht (5–6 hours): This is a scenic trek best done in summer and autumn. Starting from Kothi or Kulang road head, 7km from Manali, the trek traverses through lush green forests of walnut, oak and pine trees. The view of the entire Kullu Valley can be seen all along the trek. A spectacular panorama of peaks is visible all the time. Soaking up in the sulphur hot spring at Vashisht will relax your muscles completely.
Dhungri/Kanyal Village (3–4 hours): This hike leads you through the pine forest. Along the way, you can have the view of the villages and the mountains on the other side of the valley. The walk ends at Kanyal village.
Beas Kund (3–5 days): This is one of the most famous treks in Manali that starts from Solang Valley. Cross a couple of streams, walk over loosely held boulders on a dead glacier to get to the glaciated Beas kund. A great view of the surrounding peaks like Hanuman tibba dominates the area.
